Strategic Planning

Strategic plans that deliver focus, alignment,
and results.

Our clients tell us a huge advantage we bring is our hands-on experience implementing the plans we help create. Those experiences have taught us what questions to ask, how to evaluate future directions and strategies, and what it takes to go from planning to action.

  • We’re skilled researchers, facilitators, strategists, and communicators who have conducted hundreds of planning processes for associations and nonprofits.
  • We know associations and nonprofits and guide volunteer and staff leaders through thoughtful decision-making processes.
  • We help organizations address their most pressing needs, such as member relevance and value, increasing engagement, improving governance and operations, and financial sustainability.
  • We’ve designed our processes to be collaborative and inclusive because we understand that people support what they help create.
  • We are passionate about our work and get tremendous satisfaction from providing excellent service.

Creating strategic plans that work.

A common mistake is viewing a strategic plan as a set of new or special projects that exist outside the day-to-day workings an organization. Rather, a strategic plan provides the framework and direction for everything an organization does and will do going forward.

  • Research and analysis that delivers a current, multi-dimensional view of your organization today and the relevant factors that may impact its future. Our research involves thoughtful listening, gathering a range of relevant data, and applying analytical rigor so that choices are informed by qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • Facilitated virtual or in-person strategy sessions where we collectively tackle the tough questions and challenges and delve into potential opportunities transparently and constructively.
  • Developing a strategic framework that articulates crucial drivers and includes preliminary goals and strategies that are then refined by the planning group before they make it into the final plan.
  • Delivering a final strategic plan that has been well vetted and provides the strategic clarity needed to prioritize and make effective decisions and investments. The plan will be actionable and measurable. It will include context, clearly articulated impact goals, grounded yet creative strategies, and metrics.
  • Strategy alignment and implementation support to mobilize and focus your board and staff by establishing annual action plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

They were great to work with on a strategic plan. I consider our group tough on planners. We all enjoyed working with 2B and accomplished everything we wanted They communicate so well and really know what to do and how to do it. Would highly recommend.

We are walking away with a great product and a strategic plan we can stand behind. We’re happy to let you know that it has been the impetus behind the Board approving a major governance restructuring plan to align everything more with the new plan. Thank you for all of your help and tremendous efforts to get us to this point! We hope that we can work with you again in the future!

Anne Krolikowski | Executive DirectorHematology Oncology Pharmacy Association

Three years ago, Elizabeth and the 2B team helped us gain a clear focus for priorities and action steps. We grew our membership, increased training opportunities for our members and all Pennsylvania municipalities, and strengthened our staff. 2B recently helped us create our new strategic plan. Our members felt empowered and played a valuable role in developing both plans. It’s their organization!

John Brenner | Executive DirectorPennsylvania Municipal League

The strategic plan process that 2B led was great at encouraging ideas and helping us think about what we could accomplish in the future. This has really turned the tide, and our Board is now excited about new opportunities and activities for SHLB.
